About the weighing device
Oryoki (お量器) are bowls used as tableware by Zen monks of the Soto sect , and are usually circular in shape. The name comes from the fact that they are bowls in which monks accept food and drink from others (taking what is offered to them). They are also called oroki. They are a set of several bowls, nested one inside the other. In the Rinzai sect they are called jibachi (held bowls), and in the Obaku sect they are called jibachi (held bowls).
