The Kisoji route is entirely in the mountains.
- As the literary master Shimazaki Toson wrote in his novels, nature remains much as it was in the past along the 100km stretch from north to south of the Kisoji road.
- The Kiso region is home to a wide variety of lacquerware, including Kiso lacquerware and Narai magemono, as well as seasonal mountain delicacies nurtured by the region's abundant nature. People have lived in harmony with nature and built and refined their culture. Kiso Hirasawa - Lacquer Town
