About Urumishu lacquerware
Urumishu-nuri is a type of lacquerware, also called urumi-nuri or simply "urumi." It is a brown lacquerware made by mixing vermilion pigment, transparent lacquer, etc. with an appropriate amount of black lacquer mixed with black pigment. Among lacquerware, which is represented by black and vermilion, the color of "urumi" gives a calm feeling. Tamenuri is also included in urumishu-nuri.
