About Nashiji
Nashiji is a type of *jimaki* technique, in which after the base coat is applied, pear powder is sprinkled on top, and then a thin layer of yellow *nashi lacquer (a lacquer made by adding gardenia and other ingredients to transparent lacquer ) is applied on top, hardened, and then polished to finish.
*Nashiko lacquer: A type of refined lacquer, with a yellowish tint and high transparency.
*Jinuri: one of the lacquering processes, in which the entire surface of the base is painted with lacquer, etc.
*Jimaki: A technique of Maki-e in which, in addition to the Maki-e pattern, gold and silver powder is sprinkled on the ground.
