About urethane coating
Urethane paint (artificial paint) is a type of resin paint that is also used as a substitute for lacquer paint. Urethane is a general term for plastic, and polyurethane is the name for polyurethane resin paint. Color pigments are mixed into transparent urethane paint to color dishes. It is inexpensive, relatively easy to apply, and dishwasher safe. Paints that comply with the Food Sanitation Act are used for tableware, etc. There are also synthetic resins made of lacquer and urethane.
Urethane can be used as a substitute for lacquer, but it is inferior to lacquer in terms of luxury and elegance. We recommend lacquer for special occasions or as gifts.
*Resin paint: Paint whose main component is synthetic resin, and resins such as phenol, urea, melamine, alkyd, vinyl, and acrylic are used.
