A row of Mariko trees, one of the three most beautiful views of Suruga

Mariko's Tree --

The swaying of the trees, captured by Hiroshige's brush.

Maruko Inn (Maruko-juku) was completed by Utagawa Hiroshige in "21 of the 53 Stations of the Tokaido."

Behind the beautiful style depicted there, we can imagine what travelers who once walked the Tokaido were thinking as they passed under this tree, looking back at their hometowns or hurrying on.

There, you can see the conflict, farewells, and longings that must have burned the eyes of travelers at the time, as well as a more raw sense of life, the "swaying of the trees."

It is a living form that is comparable to the 100 most famous trees in Japan.

We have reproduced the treasured lacquer and gold leaf paintings of the first generation, including the footed tray: Mariko Inn and the circular decorative tub: Three Views of Suruga. We have recreated the breath of life sleeping in the silence with a modern, meticulous reproduction.

Mariko's Tree: A mental illustration

Was it the wind or love that stopped the traveler in his tracks?

Mother and child see off, leaning towards the sea,
The energy of Mariko's tree sways between mother and child.

The conflicts, farewells, and longings felt by travelers who once walked this road.

The invisible fluctuations of the heart,

It appears in the shape of a tree from its branches and leaves,
People and trees are connected as one scene.

What was depicted there was

It wasn't a landscape, but a "fluctuation (heart)."

[About product photos]
In order to prevent unauthorized reproduction of the design and to convey the "naked black" that can never be reproduced through digital processing, the illustrated photographs have been left unadjusted and recorded at an angle.

The "silence of the night" that Naked Black embodies cannot be fully captured on a two-dimensional screen. Its depth, which cannot be fully conveyed in a photograph, only becomes apparent when you see it in your hands.
